Most attractive snow scene Alan, really like the way that the shadows fall across the buildings, and the touches of bright light.

I agree Alan a larger oil would look fantastic not that this doesn’t. The light on the roofs work really well super work.

A superb work Alan - it screams 'Bickley'.

The play with shadow and light is delightful!

Love the shadows on the house roves, a brilliant piece of work again Alan!

That's just super...crisp and bright. Interesting to read about the alterations you've made...it all looks just right.

Those whites on the roof tops are stunning. Lovely painting Alan.

I just love your bold ink and wash sketches, Alan - and especially this snow scene with its strong contrasts and warm colours.

This is a real eye catcher, Alan. I immediately saw this was one of your stunning landscapes. Beautiful technique.

Really beautiful scene Alan. Love the rustic feel and the shading. Those dominant trees work really well. 👍🏻 Would make a lovely card too!!

Wonderful work Alan, those elongated shadows certainly do create extra interest on the walls and roof tops of the buildings

These just get better and better, it's so crisp looking with lovely light and darks, beautifull 😀

Superb study, Alan...reminiscent of the late great Rowland Hilder. What a gorgeous scene, so direct, well planned, love the darks!

Wonderfuòl snow scene, Alan, superb atmosphere with darks and light.

Lovely shadow work Alan. I can feel winter coming on looking at this.

A real feeling of the brightness you get of sun on fresh snow. A lovely scene Alan.

Very striking work Alan, the foreground shadow is very Hilderish

I'll just add my admiration to the others Alan....we should start using the term " Bickleyesque". Those blues and browns just sing together.

Great light in this - super

This is how it’s done.....magic Alan!

Not sure how I managed to miss this on Page 1 Alan. My dogs driving us mad with firework maniacs at the moment. Terrific piece of work in your inimitable style.

I love this one Alan, beautiful light and shade. It would make a wonderful Christmas card.

I missed this one - gorgeous. The colours ( and subject) remind me a bit of Bruegel.

A4 mixed media on Strathmore 300gsm grey paper. This is an interesting assortment of rustic buildings, and in a fabulous rural setting. This one has the potential for a large and impressionistic style oil painting at some point. Mainly Indian ink drawing with watercolour washes and white gouache highlights. I’ve made the group of trees on the left quite a bit taller and more prominent. This gave me the opportunity to cast longer shadows which then fell onto the buildings, creating more interest.
