Yes Alan another superb piece you make great choices always. Excellent

lovely buildings and light Alan well painted David Harrison

Another good, strong painting Allan, the complementary blue and oranges work well too.

Gosh there is some quality work on POL this morning, this being another! Wonderfully mellow and sun baked Alan.

Pure magic. I love the overlay of the warm red/orange.

Don't know the place, am sure it's your usual accuracy and you are showing just enough to study

Some lovely comments already, thank you, I've moved on to London scenes at present, spectacular of course but not quite the same climate. Fiona, I have been called sun baked before (or was is half-baked), but never mellow, thanks.

Nice one Alan. lovely warm colours.

Thanks Syd, always appreciated, wish I was there mind you.

Lovely work Alan lovely

Great view Alan, strong buildings very well painted. I like also your more figurative style, though I think you are an impressionistic master.

Thanks Dennis and Cesare, but not too sure about the 'master' bit...

The architecture is expressed superbly, Alan, with the sun bringing out the colour in the sandstone, -beautiful.

Thanks Willie, yes, it is a wonderful colour, this is my favourite of the Valetta series.

I've been their several times Alan and you've captured its essence superbly .... Thanks for letting me know about Facebook I'm only getting used to it now I finally gave in and got involved in the whole FB thing

Full of the mederteranian colour, wonderfully painted Alan. My favourite view of Valleta is from the sea as you arrive,am looking forward to returning there shortly, and this justs wets my appetite, thank you Alan.

Thank you Dermot and Andre, I hope to return once again also, but mobility issues prevent this for the time being.

This takes me back to many good holidays in Malta. Valletta is a beautiful place full of history and your painting of Valetta just makes me wish that I was there now.

Thanks Sarah, and so do I, it is so beautiful as you say.

My final Valetta piece for the moment anyway, 20 x 16in, oil on board. Taken from my en-plein-air watercolour drawings and sketches during my frequent visits to this fabulous island. I have tried to capture the colour of the architecture as well as the general ambience of Valetta, so again, very little detail to distact the viewers eye.
