Wonderful sketch - spot on perspective and I like the warm ochre/brown colour you have used as your wash. Nice touches of white as well which I always think lifts a work.

beautiful painting, the white really makes the painting for me. How do you find time to paint each day, I love to paint and am semi retired, but still do't have time to paint each day, and what do you do with them all.

Thank you Theo and Jenny, and to answer your question Jenny, I do get up early and plan my day, of course I'm not painting for eight hours a day, far too stressful... usually 3 or 4 hours is enough, so that still leaves loads of time for other things. I sell many of them, give lot's away and have portfolio's and cupboards bursting open. I'll sort them all out one day and have a big sale.

Oh this is gorgeous Alan! lovely recession and fabulous palette.

A very interesting piece of art work. Great depth of field and I like how you have used pure white to highlight areas.

I do love your brush work Alan! The tint of the paper is a perfect backdrop to your town and city scapes, gives them so much atmosphere.

Another superb piece Alan lovely style

Thank you all, I thought I would put something on today that Fiona likes!

I like the media you have used Alan it suits your sketch very well.

Another fabulous sketch Alan. Love the combination of the tinted paper and the dark brush work.

It's all been said, Alan, by other commentators but I just had to add my own admiration for such a striking piece of work. Excellent.

Thank you to everyone for your encouraging comments, I'll be putting a few more on from this series during the next week, along with some more less popular paintings!

A lovely perspective once again Alan. Love how you chose the boat sheds over the cathedral !

Decided to display another few of these sketches that I did a month or so ago, I think there are about another ten or so left to put on my gallery. Watercolour sketch with body colour.
