Love this . You can't go wrong with Rowland Hilder !

I'm beginning to recognise your work now Fred, which is no bad thing. Very good drawing skills evident and it has a lovely old fashioned (in a good way) feel to it.

Beautiful composition Alan - I think your brush work is excellent.

Top notch Alan. Love it.

I do love your style Alan......especially how you use black, very striking and bold.

Back in 1981, when I decided to paint more seriously, Upper Slaughter was the first place I tripped to, seeking to paint en plein air. I didn't produce anything so noteworthy as this mind! I like the 'monotone' which isn't really so. Far from boring as such pictures can be; I love the looser passages which bring this to life. Great work Alan. John

Fabriano Artistico 300lb HP. I used a more cooler tint on the paper before commencing and I quite liked it, although I don't recall exactly what colours I used. This was painted in the studio and the inspiration came from a painting that I saw online by Rowland Hilderand some photos I found online and put my own take on it.
