Kirkudbright with castle in distance.

Painted on Fabriano 300lb HP. 330mm x 230mm. There is something special about painting on tinted paper but it is not available in any decent weight. I now make my own tints and I can have any colour I want. This was tinted using raw and burnt sienna with a touch of cobalt blue to cool it down a little. I usually make a batch up and keep them to one side so that they are bone-dry when I need them. I have just completed a series of around 20 or so in this loose, spontaneous style and I hope it works. I don't generally do any drawing beforehand, just go straight in with a loaded brush and I find this method suits my style better. I will be adding a few more from this series over the coming week. I hope that you like them.
