Superb feeling of frostiness and a real chill in the air. Love the way the background trees on the right soften almost into the sky and the glistening foreground snow. I wanted to submit a comment on your last painting but was unable to do so as your studio wall kept appearing. Do you know a way of getting around this? It happened yesterday with another artist whose work I was unable to comment upon.

16 x 20in oil on board, a scene that I’ve painted many times, generally plein air but this is a studio piece. I’ve concentrated on the light and atmosphere rather than an accurate and detailed representation. This is a 4-stage WIP, which for those of you who are interested, will feature in the January e-newsletter.
