Lovely winter light! Well captured, Alan.

Very, very misty and atmospheric, Alan, love it!

Caught the wintry atmosphere so well here.

Fantastic light and so well painted

Alan, this is absolutely beautiful! Love everything about especially the palette. Can I have this as my Christmas card this year please? Lol

What a great palette Alan! You've certainly had some different ones throughout the year. This one captures the atmosphere beautifully.

I can certainly feel that nip in the air Alan, great work as always.

Like it a lot Alan, certainly has a winter feel to it.

Lovely atmosphere and palette in this Alan.

Love the colour and u to ones

I nearly missed this one, Alan. The palette, atmosphere and distance are top drawer. The sky , in particular, is beautifully soothing, and the suggestiveness of the background is spot on. Bri

You certainly hit the mark with this one Alan.

Gorgeous pale yellow light and super brushstrokes, Alan

Great work and atmosphere, Alan. Stunning palette.

Beautiful light and colour palette Alan. Surprising how different each one turns out with similar scenes, always a winner with you!

Great comments thank you so much, really appreciated.

This is a lovely painting Alan great colours and atmosphere.

A super winter painting full of atmosphere Alan.

Beautiful subdued palette Alan. I have a lot of your paintings to catch up on, will do so but probably won't comment on all. Am still coming to terms, rather incompetently, with the way this new site works. Couldn't figure how to see paintings in chronological order until I asked Dawn. Not exactly intuitive!

This is lovely, Alan. A beautiful, serene, image.

Frosty Morning across the Trent Valley. 16 x 20in (406 x 510mm), oil on Frisk canvas board. Similar in content to my posting last week, but I’ve experimented with a different colour palette and atmosphere. I often find it beneficial to develop a series of paintings based around a similar theme, that’s how I like to work. Composition and inspiration for this simple landscape from sketch book material drawn a couple of weeks ago.
