Hopefully things are gradually getting back to normal service here on PaintersOnline. Let's keep things going with a challenge for October - this month it would be great if you could paint an autumnal scene that's local to you. Celebrate your locality with oranges and reds!
Ha.  Am I going to get in first?  Our art group set the same subject last week...not really my thing but I had a go.  Not great, but it fits and it's only a week old.  We've a lot happening this month, my wife has numerous visits to hospital, so I may not fit another 'autumn' in.   The text was bunged on in photoshop...otherwise pen and watercolor. A4.
Here is my offer, I have done this one as an exercise wearing splints on my hands. My hope is to improve my painting and paint for longer spells. Cannot say it’s the best I’ve done as some areas are not as good as I would like, tired fingers and loss of concentration took its toll. I’m using it as an example at the Autumn watercolour workshop I’m leading next week.
Great to have a new challenge!  This is one I did a little while ago of autumn on Headley Heath - will try to do another just for the challenge.

A super challenge Dawn, all those gorgeous earth colours and rustic reds/oranges. Landscape for me I suspect, and looking out from my studio window at the burst banks of the River Trent in the next field, offers up some exciting possibilities to combine reflections with light and colour.
A good start, Lew, Dixie and Jenny.
Wow quick of the easal, Lew Dixie Jenny, great start.. I'm just thinking...
I don't normally do landscape things .... Hmm.  We will see if I can do something orangy/ autumn.
A little splosh of watercolour ....
A lively piece of work, Gudrun. The Rowan berries always provide a lovely splash of colour, whether within a woodland or in the hedgerow.
Not much in the way of colours required at the moment, but here is a sun - lit woodland, for now. One of the first trees to change colour are the lovely cherry, there's one just up the road, if the weather allows, I'll be painting some of the gorgeous leaves.
