I'm suddenly getting very annoying pop up ad's at the bottom of the gallery and forum pages. They are very distracting. Anyway of getting rid of them please?

No there isn’t George, I’ve mentioned it to Dawn earlier today and she’s sorting it out with the persons responsible. It’s a new addition to the site, and one we can all do without. Let’s see what transpires next week.

I’m not sure George , but I think it how the site gains some revenue. You may find it’s one of those things that you cannot remove. I had stopped noticing them but probably will now for a while .

You can’t remove them, Dawn is looking into it as I’ve said. The box is blocking my menu and speech bubble on my iPhone, that’s not satisfactory.

Just started up today on mine, blocking the message indicator. Very annoying, but I’ve learnt not to notice them on other sites.

The adverts stop you being able to navigate the site because of where they're placed. To get to the gallery from here I have to leave the site and re enter.

Our lives seem to be constantly bombarded with adverts, many of which are unavoidable. I’ve almost given up watching YouTube art videos for the same reason and now it’s becoming an annoying distraction on PoL too. Is it really necessary to raise ‘easy revenue’? Or is it another precursor to charging viewers to remove them?

I use an iPad and the pop up that obscures the menu bar at the bottom of the screen can be reduced by moving the page down. It’s still annoying though. If you must have pup ups, they should be somewhere that doesn’t get in the way all the time.

I agree it is an annoyance especially on on iPad.  For some reason, on a PC, I find it particularly distracting on the Gallery page,
