Ok, if I tell you the original artist of my painting was American, some very clever someone should guess this

Not Wyeth surely Frank! :)
Just a little earlier John, but you are on the right wavelength. Think neat little rows of trees and plants.

Still can’t get yours Frank! I’ve done another in the meantime.
Don’t know who it is Tessa but for some reason I think it’s a north British artist but don’t know why.

You’re on the right track Dixie. I realise I don’t actually know the title, only the artist. Hopefully  someone can tell me that as well!
It’s Norman Cornish , Boys on a fence  I believe .
Didn’t take you long Dixie! Yes certainly his. I have a book of his paintings and think he’s wonderful, love the characters. Boys on a Fence sounds about right.
I’m not sure if I am duplicating this.  But here is my replica of a work by a female artist.
I’m so behind! I’m still figuring Frank’s out!
If you look in the gallery, Fiona is very close to guessing mine. Here's a larger piece of the original painting
Is yours a Mary Cassatt Lynda? She did lots of paintings featuring women drinking tea.
Grant Wood, Spring in town, 1941. I must have passed it before but your pink blossoms confused me Frank. That was a really hard one and so different from American Gothic.
