Haven’t had any luck yet with either Frank’s or Paul’s, but have come across some really lovely paintings by various artists while looking!
I’m stumped again, too, so I did a little pastel instead.
I have mentioned the artist several times in the last , my favourite artist of all time. He is not British and his main work is described as hyper  realistic , woodlands , snow scenes etc . A cropped version of one of his painting , he painted thousands in his lifetime. I
Frank, what nationality ( American?) and the same ? to Paul.
If I tell you the country it will be a dead cert give away as very few artist from this European country are internationally famous . Having said I’m sure that I will be proven wrong and drummed out of the forum.
Peder  Mork Monsted ?Danish..  I’m learning a lot with this challenge., I guess you know this guy because of your love of trees .
Spot on Sylvia , I do like his trees and his landscapes in general . This is the full painting , Laundry day this is very loose for him .

I like this one more than the hyperrealist ones but that’s personal taste.  Now we need a clue from Frank. The child’s face reminds me of Degas, crudely drawn, then I wondered about Henri Lebasque…but can’t find it.

Frank’s looks almost digital and it’s very colourful - reminds me of Hockney’s recent iPad paintings in France.

Ok, if I tell you the original artist of my painting was American, some very clever someone should guess this
I’d discarded American artists…Mary Cassatt fitted the bill but I couldn’t findthe painting…will keep trying. Interesting that she was a friend of Degas and her style is like his in many ways. As Jenny says, we are delving into some interesting areas. Then there’s John Sloane…..

I don't think I could make a decent fist of copying the likes of Constable or Turner, but would this test include some of our deceased British artists of the 20th Century? Some of them were very good I feel! :) I see it might be okay to go at this rank of artists. So That's what I will go for. Best of luck folks... John
