Much like you on the collage front Tessa but did see the article in the artist and there was also a piece in Leisure artist using some in a portrait this month too. Not my bag though.
Well the good news is I managed to avoid doing collage today as we ran out of time. Did some doodle sketching which I found fun. Our 3rd and final sitter was very good to draw and had none of those ‘challenging’ features. Examples below...
Very good sketching Ron. Is this a ‘real class’ or online? We are just watching the Big Bash cricket from Oz and it looks great weather and normality!  Gillian, glad I’m not alone!
I've missed out on commenting on so many sketches - I can't keep up - loved that sketch of your grandson Tessa (I find babies just about impossible to draw so I'm very impressed).   I'm with you Ron, Tessa and Gillian - I've tried collage but I think the least said about the results the better!  However, I do like collage work by other people e.g. Aine Divine, and a few folk on PoL.  My sister-in-law's husband, who is an artist in Skye, John Bathgate, also does a lot of collage - which I love - they are abstracts and semi-abstract landscapes.  I saw the article in the Artist too but think I will leave it to other folk! Nice sketching Ron, I particularly like the doodly one.
uugh - posted twice (again!) - sorry

By coincidence there’s a lovely mixed media/collage on the gallery today by Malcolm Coils who does these really well.
I agree, I really like Malcolm Coils' work.
So many cracking sketches, I’ve made notes this time! Hilary, I love the charcoal butterfly, and a promising start on the teapot, which leads nicely on to Tessa painting a portrait in tea! And the baby in the polar bear suit, so cute. Glad to see you’ve made a good start with the dreaded oil pastels Paul. Denise, I think the wonky stairs are great, far more interesting than being strait!  I love the stone outbuilding Gillian, and a good portrait. A lovely cloud and sky watercolour sketch Margaret, lots of moody clouds about to practice on around here. Ron, I am really interested in silhouette and reverse sketching, yours are really good. I have a horse and rider one to do for a friend. Today I have done a pastel and charcoal pencil sketch of Harley, in his stable, side lit in the dark. Really enjoyed this.
Wow Katy that is stunning, not only is he a beautiful animal you have made a beautiful job of the pastel.
Katy, that is beautiful. I really think it makes a difference when you love your subject.
A couple of watercolour sketches from me today , I’ve had the truck around for a while and finished it today. The bee and bluebells is a5 .
These are lovely Paul, especially the bluebells. Roll on spring!
