Looks good  Hilary, I’m still not doing any sketches or much painting, having to do most things left handed as it not so painful. This is as far as I have managed to get , I’m working from right to left as I’m predominantly using my left hand which is ok for doing the leaves etc. I will probably have to tidy it up later.
Bless you, sorry to hear this Paul. It must be so difficult for you. The progress may be slow but its very good, I like the autumnal colour you’ve used for the leaves.  I was revisiting my WIP of the old boat but had a disaster, the paper wasn’t up to the washes and spattering so became unworkable and one section tore. So I’m having a play day, messing around with some gouache, not sure if I’ll get a sketch or painting out of it today.
Some great sketches everyone! Sorry to hear your hand is still causing you pain Paul but it’s great to be able to use your left hand so effectively! It’s a very wet day here and must say inspiration has been pretty low the past few days however I need to give myself a swift kick up the backside and get something done! How annoying Hilary that your old boat WIP has ended in disaster as it looked really promising.
Very quick sketch of old roof tops from a photograph I took a couple of years ago. In a nearby village. Used a mix of graphite and a red chalk pencil but not gteat quality! Not feeling very inspired at the moment!
Good one Gillian! I love those old roof tiles, great subject matter. Mine today is a quick pen sketch for a watercolour of some trees starting to show their autumn colours.
Lovely roof tiles, the way they curve across is really effective.  I really like your sketch Tessa and have seen the watercolour on the Gallery, really lovely.  Nice soft colours.  My offering today is a bit of prep for my art class tomorrow, practicing shading in graphite.  I can endlessly fiddle with this type of drawing.
Like the roof tiles Gillian, be good to see the watercolour done from your sketch Tessa. You are very good a drawing Hilary that a good sketch. Though it was time I did some quick paintings, here is my effort for today a early frosty morning in autumn.
I don’t usually contribute to this thread but on a short break in Cornwall hope to do more if the weather holds. Sketched this morning.
That’s excellent Alan, and it’s really good having you join the thread.
Hi everyone, back from hols and in the land of WiFi again. It’s been good to have a break from screens but have been doing some sketching and painting so will start posting again. I’ve had a look through the forum and there has been some great work, don’t think I will go through three weeks of the gallery so apologies if I have missed some good work without commenting.
This is an ink pen sketch of the daily visitors to the lawn beside the cottage, or shieling I think they are called, of which our rescue collie takes no notice! Also, cattle we meet on one of our walks.
Katy , lovely sketches. When I started to read about visitors on the lawn I expected the tourist variety but this looks much more interesting and exciting! Like the backside in the bush!
