That's a really good sketch  Sylvia.
Very envious of your view Sylvia, nice sketch did this one in my journal so it speaks for itself..
Looks a good place to have a pit stop Bari…not too many bricks.  Lol.
Like your sketch Tessa, great lunch stop Bari. A 20 minute sketch in my fishing boat series, I said I need to scribble in some reads at the back , five year old said I’m good at scribbling grandad , so she did and she is.

Smashing Sketches everyone and I think it's great you get your granddaughter involved Paul, she has done a great job. My sketch tonight.
Thanks Denise, she is always asking  to do a bit . Like your miner you have caught the darkness well, as I was at a tech college before joining the RAF I had to go down the pit  twice a week to work on the machines in the training gallery, 800 feet down Thing is you never thought about it and just got n with the tasks, a strange twilight work up in the dark worked in the dark and went home in three dark in winter . Mind you we were kept in the dark in the airforce a lot as well.
Denise, have you heard of The Pitmen Painters? They were from the North East, Ashington. They were all miners and their work is on display at Woodhorn, a former colliery and now a museum. Norman Cornish was the most famous, look up his paintings. There’s a play, by Lee Hall, called The Pitmen Painters.
I've never heard of them Marjorie but I am excited to look them up tomorrow and have a look at their work. Thanks.
I just had a quick look at Norman Cornish, I love his work, I'll take a longer look at it tomorrow.
A fine drawing, Denise.  One of the things I like about the forum is that you often get pointed in the direction of artists you weren't aware of.  Norman Cornish is new to me.  What a painter!  From the many photos of him at work it seems he painted large.
Take a look at “Norman Cornish”, The Definitive Collection” on youtube . There are some wonderful paintings, his sketches and portraits which are first class. I can see how you, Lewis, would like a lot of them - they encapsulate “Life” in all its aspects.
