Progress looks good for your horse sketch Katy.  Are those primroses Sylvia.  I cant wait to turn the corner into spring.  Mines a quick sketch from an old photo, location I cant remember but it gives me a chance to practice the perspectives which are quite complex in the photo.
I have some geraniums and a fuchsia still in flower in pots outside , can’t believe it at this time of year. Some great sketches going on , I’ve not done much sketching but have managed four paintings over the last week or so. This is the basic sketch for a painting . On another note I had a very nice set of oil pastel for Christmas so I need to pluck up the courage to have a go, total failure several years ago.
Digit problems. Sorry .

My primroses have been in flower for a few weeks now - they can't decide whether it is spring or autumn.  Lovely sketch Sylvia.  Please keep painting and posting.  Love the horse too - reminded me of giraffes  with oxpeckers on their horns.  Well done all of you, keeping up the sketching habit.
We had snow here this morning, but it's gone now. In any case, all I had to paint on is a cardboard box, and I am no Lowry! So I just ordered some canvas boards from Jackson's! Gawd the price of a worthwhile purchase! No point in buying less than 10! Ah well, I will call it a 'Self-Christmas, cum New Year present'! Happy New Year everyone John
Well done Sylvia first of many no doubt! Lovely flowers for the time of year! Thanks for the 4th day Alan!  Plan to do a sketch of the view on the dog walk which I snapped 30 minutes ago, need to thaw out before attempting it .... bbbrrrrr!
Love everyone's sketches, they are all so good. Hope you are all enjoying the festive season. This is a quick sketch of a church near to me. We have a church on every corner here. I'm doing a bit more sketching this evening.
Well done Sylvia for getting going, I find that once I’ve hit pencil to paper it unleashes a floodgate, hope it does for you. Lovely cheerful primroses, mine are flowering too.
The street scene looks promising Hilary, not something I’ve tried, looks tricky! Another good truck Paul, are you going to finish it with the oil pastels? Like the church view through the trees Denise.
Denise that church sketch would make for a good painting!, well having thawed out Heres today’s offering of a sketch of this snow covered island of Hoy here today.

I bet it looked glorious Gillian, we had a light dusting of snow overnight. I just sketched my dog for the first time. I know I have a long way to go but I think it does resemble him just a little. I didn't think I would ever be able to draw a face of a dog.
