My offering for today is a sketch done in pen yesterday with watercolour added today. I sat in our front garden yesterday sketching and watching people walking and biking past, most will say hello and some have a quick chat, and obviously it’s a little different from a back garden where you might only speak to a neighbour over the fence. I can go out for a walk but I’m aware that many can’t, and so this turned into an idea of life inside and outside the garden gate. I’ve given the outside colour to show this.

Really like the variety of topics and techniques on here. Lovely delicate treatment of that bluebell and bee, Dixie; very good portraits Gary and thanks for highlighting Raw Umber Studios - looks good;
I love the way you have done inside and outside the garden differently Tessa. Here is my sketch from yesterday - ws pencils and PITT pen - A5. Was lovely sitting in the sun though this being Edinburgh in April there was a distinct underlying chill!

Good heavy horses Dixie and some lovely red tulips Margaret. Are all tulips red this year!? They do seem to be.
Mine is a preliminary sketch possibly for a painting at some stage of the Cumbrian fells, drawn last night while watching a slow tv type of programme of shepherds bringing their sheep down the mountain for sheering. At the moment it’s just a general sketch trying to capture the type of rugged scenery and colours.

Wonder if the red tulips are a stronger variety? They are gorgeous anyway so glad we have them when can't go out to buy flowers. That delicate sketch is lovely Tessa - I like it a lot as it is. Will be interested to see your painting. Really like your horses Dixie. I looked out the window last night and saw a flaming sky so here it is. V quick and v wet A5 watercolour with a tiny bit PITT pen on steeple.
