I decided to set my self a challenge of painting ax many pen and  wash sketch as I could in thirty minutes, the only thing was that they had to look fairly decent . I don’t usually do pen and wash but that Mr Bickley has inspired me to get on with it . I decided to do them in the evenings rather than just reading of watching a movie etc , I can do them sat at the dining table and use my half pan box set of watercolour that I initially started my art journey with. The shepherds hut is from a photo taken at Marlow a few months ago the others are imaginary and from images I have seen,  the floating haystack is Stackie taking hay up to London in the1800s and early 1900s.

That is a great result Paul. Sketch from life. Done in half an hour and the head was moving about, so it was very difficult capturing features.
That’s excellent sketching Denise , you can see how your skill is developing as your progressing each time you attend the group. I posted the sketch for this a while back the sketch took about ten minutes today I used up the spare paint in my palette to add the colour in roughly twenty minutes at the most.
I agree! I’m seeing a more confident portrait artist already… a long way to go still obviously, but it’s early days! Nice rapid sketching Paul, a good exercise and the snow filled landscape and tractor is a beauty… don’t forget that the dramatic sky would be visible in the snow as a reflection…particularly nearer the horizon!
Thanks Alan I was thinking of adding it to the snow but chickend out at the last minute, now I will go back and touch it up.
You don’t need to go overboard, this is one of dozens of examples on my gallery…
That’s a lovely piece Alan great colours. I’m trying to get into the habit of sketching in an evening, I don’t watch t and very rarely watch a film , it’s far more relaxing . About half hour to do all four sketches in my marine sketch pad
These are very well drawn boats Paul… they aren’t easy to get the shape right, well done!
A small pen and wash done the other day- couldn’t find this thread at the time! Good work all round.
Some lovely work and I like your pen and wash sketch Tessa. I did a quick sketch of a window while I was waiting for my class to start last night.  Here is a life drawing, 40 minute pose.
Good life drawing Denise, and I like your ‘waiting’ sketch! Good opportunity.
Two excellent sketches Denise , love the waiting window one . Love the steps Tessa did you do a painting like this earlier in the year?.
