Yes - well that's the last you'll see of them. My landlord has a row of hazel trees lining the path to the house; red squirrels guzzle all the nuts, or pinch them and hide them; I don't think he's had a single nut for himself in all the time the trees have been there. He did lose his patience, and chase one off - it climbed a telegraph pole, out of his reach, and chattered furiously at him - I'm afraid I laughed ... he just couldn't hope to win.

There are some excellent sketches posted , what I’m really enjoying seeing behind the scenes so to speak looking at the basic work we all do but often keep to ourselves. The bone of our work is often a simple sketch us the idea for something bigger or a base for paint .
I have been sketching but simply forget to post them the first are in a new sketchbook I bough as it was reduced to two pounds , lovely paper.the watercolour is something I’m experimenting with only using aNo 6,8 and 10 round brushes fir the main work and will use a rigger for the small stuff . I usually have a more detail sketch to start with and use a variety of brushes.

Some fine work from everyone . I've also been trying to do a sketch a day, so here's a few I did recently . These are me pushing paint around somewhere in the open air trying to capture autumn colour, for as long as it takes for a cup of coffee to go cold.
I deliberately tried to minimize the outline drawing part and in some I just painted without creating an outline, which is good fun:
