Thanks George. I was given a drawing set of clutch pencils in a leather case for my birthday back in June but being a stick in the mud sometimes and loving the feel of the good old pencil I’ve resisted using the till last evening.
I tool a load of photos of leaves in the garden before I remove them or they get wet , I want to use then to sketch tbd different shapes, colour eventually and the stages of decay so thought it a opportunity to test the clutch pencils out .
I changed the leads in the three larger sized pencils as I did not know what they were an all look the same in a test sketch, now have B2, 4 and6 as they are the softest leads in the very large amount that comes with the set .
The pencils are quite heavy as they are made of metal but feel nice once you get used to the weight of them , there is a small sharpener included for the larger lead and a smaller size one as well , ideal for keeping a point on the leads .
The is my first attempt using the B4 and 6 , don’t think I will ever give up the good old pencil but these certainly are excellent tools.

good morning everyone
here is my 10 minute morning sketch. I set the clock and put down the brush after exactly 10 minutes. Taking the photo, uploading it to the PC and publishing it in the forum took more time! haha.....
PS: unfortunately the lighting conditions today are very bad for taking photos

Lovely bright colours Tanja and really well drawn . I sketched last night once in my marine sketch book and the other to replace a rough sketch I had done for a painting, I decided to paint a train with steam obscuring part of it .
The original sketch a few days ago in a bit of a hurry , went to add the background base colour and the paint just soaked into the watercolour board I was using like a sponge it just soaked it up . I’ve used the board before so was quite dismayed and wondered why , I then noticed it had a different texture oooh yes it’s the wrong side , I’ve included the original with four string coats of indigo soaked up .

Just drop the very subtle hint Robert at attach a photo with the place to buy what you would like the to get for you .
My son would not have a clue but his partner is a very artist and sketches regularly so I put it down to her influence.
The rest of my family usual ask my wife to find out what would like but not to make it obvious, well she just says someone want to buy you art supplies what do you need as apposed to what you would like as we know there is a vast difference.

I got plonked with another 'post removed' box when I posted the above doodle. So that's the new thing at the moment? In my tech innocence I thought the spam block might only be on the 'inspiration' thread I was previously occupying. Not so, it seems.
Thanks to the moderator who OK'd it. It's fine, so long as people know... or we'll be getting lots of multiple posts
(I'm assuming it happens only when you post pics...when I post this 'text only' comment, it should be fine. I'm about to find out...

god morning all, -> +2min. to intensify the tonal values
I see here some wonderful sketches; i like that leaves very much!
