Great examples of this artists work! I’ve selected just a couple that I particularly like - he knew how to keep things simple and exploited counterchange combined with strong tonal values… result… impact!

Don't worry Alan we will double enjoy.
Excellent choice Sylvia and Alan , so many great works to choose from , I’ve gone for a  Cross the board selection.  One I could not resist is the  one of the artist with a painting of his birth place. A still life  and a portrait plus a couple of extras .

Sorry Alan I did not notice until I posted it I picked one of your choice but with artist .
Wasn’t familiar with his work, he has a lovely style with that thickly textured paint.  Lots to choose from, but I particularly like these.

I only heard about him recently.  The tonal values are very good and make his paintings very dramatic.
Having lived in Wales most of my life I’ve always been familiar with Kyffin Williams and love the feeling, simplicity and character of his work. I went to a centenary exhibition of his work at the National Museum in Cardiff in 2019 which was quite small but lovely to see. Here are a few I have chosen.
Some superb paintings chosen , his work is amazing , simple scenes without a lot of fuss . His style of painting looks simple and easy but when you really look it’s very well put together, I can almost hear him saying “ well it just sort of comes together “. It takes a great craftsman to get this standard of just come together look ever time, even his portraits have that solid look to then but still have a gentleness to them. Bit like the Welsh people he depicted, living in a hard rugged environment, tough people with a soft centre.
Now Sir Ks work has always appealed to me ever since I was introduced to it on a visit to Wales many years ago - a bit sombre for some but for me that's part of its appeal.
