Yes, I will.  I have a couple of books on his work, so I will have to read them instead of just looking at the pictures.  I’m off to Scotland in 2 weeks time though.  I may go dark.

Where are you off too in Scotland Linda?
Gillian I also know the flat cap farmer look. My hubby is one of six kids born in mid Wales, of whom three involved in farming. I think Kyffin captures the bandy legs and general character very well-a tough people! HBB has also been a very enjoyable eye opener.
It’s really good that so many people are getting a lot of enjoyment from the thread as well as learning about new to them artists. I was absolutely amazed at HBBs work when I first  came across it , why I have never thought of just searching the net before I don’t know , probably felt I needed a reason. It working because your feeding into it and adding new names , there will be a few familiar once coming up but it’s about looking at them in a different way and maybe studying their work a bit more .  Keep the names coming and please continue to enjoy the learning process, on a selfish note  I’m really enjoying doing this and learning so much as well. Have a good Easter weekend everyone.

Will add her on to the list Tessa and leave you to do the intro when she come up it will be two to three week or so. .
That’s fine thank you.

Isle of Mull to see eagles and otters.
That will be a great holiday Linda we have a pair of white tailed sea eagles and a pair of golden eagles on Hoy here in Orkney. Plus otters on mainland Orkney. Enjoy you holiday Linda when it arrives
Just returned from a week in St David’s, spotted some fine examples of KW’s landscapes at the Harbour Lights gallery in Porthgain. Great to see them in the flesh as it were. If you are near there, well worth the diversion.  http://www.harbourlightsgallery.com/

Andrew welcome to the discussion and thank you for the information I’m sure other will pop in if they are near by. It must have been interesting to actually see them , whilst modern technology allows us good pictures of paintings etc , you can’t beat actually seeing the there in front of you . Out of curiosity did you know about his work before you went on holiday or was off chance that you visited the gallery .

I’ve been reading this thread and I’ve seen other websites and TV programmes with examples of his work, but never seen one up close and personal. We always visit that gallery when we are down there but I wasn’t aware beforehand that KWs paintings would be there (there are only 3 there) . There is one painting there that could have been painted yesterday, but was in fact done in 1950. The clarity of the colours was wonderful.
Andrew if you are ever on Anglesey go to Oriel Ynys Mon in Llangefni .  A whole delight of them.
