Welcome to this week’s special thread , we will spend the week looking at friends , fellow artists who for whatever reason have stopped posting on the gallery. I will open with four names of people I know have not posted fir quite some time, please looked at their artwork and choose a painting if you wish to post one . Please name anyone who you know we haven’t heard from or seen any work recently add a pic or two , I know of about half a dozen who I regularly viewed in the gallery.  I’m looking forward to visiting old  POL friends and viewing their work again. I will open  with Michael Edwards who stopped posting after his wife passed away, hope all is well with you Michael, hope you look in . Gavin Robertson who’s last painting on the gallery was in 2022. PogArtTi, who used to post regularly and often posted Work in Progress. Last but not least Katy Dean( not related) who was one of the first to comment on my artwork when I started posting in the gallery, swapped a few messages as well . Hope alls well .
One of my favourite artists here with an unusual style, was Paulette Farrell who sadly passed away in 2023. As a cricket fan I admired the movement and action she achieved. I also remember her bird and animal paintings so here are a few.
I followed Natasha Metaxa as soon as I saw her work. Sadly she hasn't posted since March 2023. I hope she returns. Here's my favourite: Her gallery is at: Natasha Metaxa I also liked John Edwards' illustrative style. He hasn't posted since mid 2022, hope he is o.k. and will post again.  His gallery is here: John Edwards

Some of our members may remember Barry Hulme, a watercolour artist who hasn’t posted since 2019! If you’re looking in Barry, I hope you’re keeping well!
I liked Dennis Rounding's paintings a lot, was sorry when he just vanished around 2020. Norfolk Boats dates from 2016.

I had no idea she had passed away. I loved her work. How lovely to see it again and remembering her

What a lovely idea to remember these artists . It just shows what a lasting impression art has. Thanks fot this
A lovely idea indeed Paul, thanks from me as well. I might add one or two more during the course of the week, we seem to have lost a number of artists whose work I enjoyed, and comments on the Forum as well sometimes.
I’m enjoying seeing some of the artwork that I had forgotten about, it good to look back and recall the pleasure of seeing the work originally and interacting with the artist.  To day I will start with Jim Morris, Jim posted every day sometimes more than once a day , lot of his work was quickly done with few marks and bright colours. Looking back Jim hasn’t posted since later end of 2024 , he was very open about being in his eighties I just hope he is still plodding around .
Several people come to mind, the first two are Derek Snowdon and Michael Mcmanus.  I remember Derek giving me some honest valuable criticism, a few years ago.  I know he has passed away and in later life painted with used credit cards as, I believe, he found holding a brush impossible.  I think this is evident in the first two shown - the second was done with credit cards, the first was earlier when I suspect he could still handle a brush.   My second artist is Michael Mcmanus, a northeast based painter, who had a wry sense of humour.  The portrait of the couple purports to represent the time he was dating Sophia Loren. Such great artists.  Each and every one!
A few from me - I loved seeing Margaret Mallows’ very skilful reduction lino prints - sadly another artist who is no longer with us. A couple of others who haven’t posted for a while - Malcolm Coils, one of my favourite artists on POL - and Barbara Morris, from Australia - this first watercolour is on Yupo paper. And not forgetting Dennis Rounding and Dennis Snowdon, who have already been mentioned - they were both very helpful and encouraging when I first joined POL.
