Thankyou all - much appreciated. No worries Fiona . I was in UK in 1972 but never made it to Scotland sadly. The bird is a magpie by the way . Common here and beautiful songbirds.

This is the same cottage I featured as an ink and wash version recently . 8x5 " A little gouache used on the finishing details but basically a watercolour.

I'm an 81 year old retired surgeon . Art has been my lifelong obsession away from work and now my main focus in life together with woodwork. I enjoy creating and making in any medium but have always gravitated to drawing and watercolour. I've also had limited training in etching and sculpture.
