This is lovely, Wib. I really like the palette and the superb use of hard and soft edges that really causes the gnarled surface of the tree to twist and turn. It's really effective.

I think its fab. you have lovely texture and colour and it makes a really interesting piece of art.

Even before you said it, I saw an animal here, maybe a cat or a young deer. Reminds me of "Midsummer Night's Dream".

Unusual and beautiful colouring Wib.

Love the palette you’ve chosen to use Wib, it gives the image a spiritual look. Your imagination could run wild......the textures of the marks you’ve made could represent fur and I see a goat with horns. It’s really very imaginative, and gothic.

Thanks ever so much everyone - I truly appreciate your comments.

Beautiful shapes Wib, interesting.

This is most intriguing Wib. When I was on Vancouver Island and our group was walking through an area that has your lovely huge trees I got a photo of the most amazingly coloured trunk. With the idea of using it in a painting one day.

Lovely effect and colours Wib.

Thank you Carole, Helen, Sandra, Margaret and Diana for your kind comments.

Thank you, Dennis.

Thank you, Maureen.

Sometimes when hiking I’ll notice a growth on a tree that looks interesting and unusual. Several years ago I came across a growth that looked very much like an animal’s head – perhaps a cat or maybe a dog. I used a photo of it to make this painting which ended up with a somewhat abstract quality to it – not great but fun to do.
