The few fly fisher folk that I know have two dreams of their avocation: one is that of their favourite stream and its secrets known only to them and the other…well, it’s the ideal trout stream with a low sun dappling the ripples in the pool under the cool shade of overhanging branches where from moment to moment the ripples of feeding trout broach the pristine surface. The perfect place and the perfect time! This painting attempts to catch such a moment – a small trout stream meandering through the trees and the trout are ready to feed!
