Thank Carole and Shirley for your kind comments. Shirley, I would love to see Joseph Cornell's exhibition and his imaginative use of shadow boxes - however being in Canada makes it a little more difficult to catch although I've enjoyed some of the information on the RA website.

My wife, an avid gardener, came across plans for a Garden Inn in one of her publications. Materials included old bird houses, hollow bamboo sticks, broken pottery, and fabric mesh, etc. The idea, as I understood it, was to provide a hospitable habitat for insects that hopefully would prove beneficial to plant life. I’m not entirely sure how successful it was but bees did seem to enjoy being around it. This is my painted interpretation of the project.
