Retirement can be a painful experience for many folk – loss of life purpose and self-worth. But it can also be experienced as a time of transitioning to new perspectives of what it means to be valued. This painting shows an old watering can no longer fulfilling its original purpose transitioning to a flower container in a small corner of a garden where it brings colour and joy to all who visit.
