This is very original - I love the colours and geometric patterns, Wib. Is it pure imagination or based on a specific place? The brickwork detail suggests it may be linked to a particular building.

Thanks Pat. Yes, it's pretty much generated from imagination although the idea came from the railing of a small bridge over a stream. The brickwork was simply a device hopefully to bring some coherence to the image and perhaps to give the forms something with which to interact.

I’m finding the older I become the more I’m drawn to the freedom of abstract art although, at heart, I think I’ll always remain a soft realist. What I enjoyed about creating this image were the geometric shapes and textures with full saturated colour. I used the brickwork in the background to help tie the various shapes together into a more unified whole.
