Great to see some of these old and characterful trees Martin, many of them half dead and battered but still throwing greenery out! Lovely work.

Excellent piece of artwork Martin.

A magnificent tree Martin. I do love these trees you are painting which are so full of historical knowing.

A super painting, I really like these old trees, so full of character

Why do we like trees more when we are older? Never really noticed them when I was young….Great specimen Martin.

You are a master at drawing trees. I like the skinny white ones on the left in contrast to the elegant old one. And where you have placed the streaks of light leading inward.Beautiful.

Wonderful Martin.

Another grand old man of the forest. Top work Martin, love the dappled sunlight.

Thanks very much for your encouraging comments. It seems a lot of us like trees and I think you’re right Marjorie we notice and appreciate them more as we get older. I hope we leave some for future generations

A great sketch of the old tree, some wonderful textures.

Great work with the shadows !

Beautifully painted, what a superb tree .

Thanks Dixie. I think this may be biggest oak in the grounds of the hall

Beautifully painted!

Lovely balance of light and dark, alive and dead.
