I like those "gubbins." They bring the eye into the painting to that lovely yellow stripe. There is a lyrical feeling to this scene.

Our April visit to Clumber Park thanked us with good weather for a change! En plein air sketch of willow and oaks in sepia Unipin pen and ink with watercolour washes added in studio. There was a lot of floating brown gubbins on the water which I considered excluding but changed my mind. On Arches rough wc paper 14x10”
