Hidden Lake
In my usual current method I sketched en plein air with ink and added watercolour washes in studio. This lake feels more coastal than inland, probably because of the sandy beaches. It’s actually a local former sand quarry and is hidden because it’s not yet easily accessible. The bright white birch trunks stood out against the bright blue sky and I couldn’t resist. On Saunders hp block 16x12”
