Ingrid Brown

Biography

I am a figurative artist working primarily in oil, creating intimate pieces that explore atmosphere, memory, and the quiet drama of the natural world. Rooted in observational practice, my work is shaped by walking, weather, human interaction and presence. I paint not to replicate, but to listen — to translate silences, forms, negative spaces, textures, and moods. My paintings often begin small and gestural, either painted all at once, or evolving through layers of revision until they feel lived-in, like the land itself, and the human condition harboured within us all.
