Attingham Park
This is the 4th in my series of pen and wash paintings of locally interesting buildings and is the National Trust's Attingham Park which is just down the road from me - a lovely Palladian house with parkland by Humphrey Repton. I visit the park often with my dog (who actually thinks it is part of her back garden!). They often have events at the house - hot air ballooning, festivals and, as in this painting, a rally of sports cars from days gone by. I thought it made the house a bit more relevant to have something of it's calender of events included in the work. I did this one before I started contour drawing - wish I had used that method to draw it as I feel it could have made the drawing more dynamic. Back to experimenting tomorrow!
