Aberdovey Seafront

The slight crookedness adds to its appeal Thea. Aberdovey looks a very pretty place to visit.

Lovely summery view of Aberdovey.

Thank you Val and David - very nice of you to comment. As I said, very rough round the edges but when you work very quickly (granddaughter pulling on my leg to play frisbee with her!) something has to be sacrificed.

Full of vitality and colour, Thea! Less time to ponder when grand children are around , you just have to go for it and usually the results are better as long as they haven 't finger painted it too! LOL!

Love Aberdovey and this is a lovely way to remember it!

I like it Thea . It's got the business of a seaside town and the cars add an element of movement to the happy scene

Like, and the wibbly wobbly look works well.

You did so well to capture the scene, its lovely.

Happy, jaunty scene. I like the yellow house - how nice to live there.

That's a massive task standing up Thea, very well done.

Lovely again Thea, like the hills in the background too.

wonderful painting Thea so much to see so interesting

Fantastic composition. really lovely watercolour Thea

Thank you very much Sarah, Debs, Syd, Sylvia, Karyl, Pat and Stephen for your very nice comments. Much appreciated and valued.

Thank you so much Frank, Sandy and Petra - very kind of you to stop by and add such nice comments.

Excellent Thea, such a busy scene with so many buildings and that lovely seafront, delightful to see!

Thank you very much, Ros and Michael, really nice of you to say such nice things about my sketch.

Despite all the problems, you have succeeded in producing a super work. It has loads of character and as Sarah says, vitality.

Thank you very much Gudrun and Tony - I really appreciate your kind comments.

Brilliant ! Would make a fantastic post card.......

I don't know how you manage to do these lovely sketches standing up Thea! The crookedness of the houses only adds to the charm and I also like the colourful little cars. Happy painting!

What a lovely, atmospheric piece, Thea. Love the immediacy of the painting, and the vehicles lined up in front of the buildings just bring so much zest to the scene.

The most rough and ready of my three sketches from my day out at Aberdovey. I had to draw standing up as to move the chair, the umbrella, the shade tent, etc to get a clear view of the houses on the seafront was a bit epic, so perhaps that accounts for the wobbly houses that look a bit crooked to me. Hey ho though - that's outdoor sketching for you! Pen and wash in my sketchbook.
