Southwold Lighthouse
I have been dissatisfied with the style I have been doing my pen and wash painting in that I thought I would try something different. I am much happier generally with leaving areas of white paper in a painting, so I thought I could apply this to pen and wash as well. In this one I just picked out the details I wanted to emphasis with colour and left the rest. I feel this is a much lighter and airier work than my usual 'riot of colour' ones and I rather like it. At least I am experimenting - Louise will be pleased, lol. Pen and Wash on Fabriano Artistico Extra White 300lbs.
