I really like this Thea, it's very bright and colourful while being well-composed.

Love it! It has a very jaunty air that perfectly captures the great British Seaside, so you've certainly achieved what you set out to do.I like the way you've echoed the colour of the bathing huts, in the cars and roofs, ties everything together nicely, in a scene that could have been too busy, but works here perfectly.

Thank you very much Heather and Debs. Glad you liked the great British seaside theme!

Nice one, it really does capture a colourful seaside theme.

Nice and seaside breezy. You have captured the feel you were after.

Thank you very much James and Gudrun for your feedback which is much appreciated. It is all a bit hit and miss for me at the moment with pen and wash, but nice comments do much to spur me on.

That's just what I thought when I saw it Thea........seaside postcards! And as they were in their time, a wonderful reminder of those seaside holidays.

Nearly mised this one Thea! Such a happy, seaside feel to this. The row of houses is nicely balanced by the beach huts and the overall composition and colour is excellent. As you know, due to camera and computer problems, I haven't posted anything for some time (plus the fact that I haven't painted anything lol ) but hopefully I'll get back to posting soon. I've missed seeing your lovely pen and wash paintings here!

Lovely summer scene, seems a long time ago now

Thank you very much Fiona, Louise and Glennis for your comments and feedback.

Love you use of bright colours Thea really lovely paintings

A beautiful and delightful seaside watercolour Thea! So much to look at and like the others already said it has got that special feeling. Well done!

Another vibrant and colourful painting Thea in your instantly recognisable style. Excellent!

Thank you very much Ros, Satu and Paul for stopping by to comment. Your opinions are greatly valued especially as pen and wash is new to me and I am trying to get to grips with it.

Another attempt at pen and wash taken from a photo I took on a recent holiday near Southwold. The jolly beach huts and iconic lighthouse seemed to encapsulate what the British seaside is all about and I tried to make the scene look a bit like one of the old fashioned holiday postcards I remember from my childhood. Pen and Wash on Langton 200lbs.

I am a watercolourist first and foremost as I love the qualities of the medium, its riskiness and unpredictability. I started painting about 8 years ago and it has now become an integral part of my life. Hopefully, I will continue to paint into my dotage as I am given to understand that you can…
