To me, That is the skill of a good artist, to take a dull photo or scene and produce a beautiful, colourful picture.

You really can sense the depth of that beautiful transparent water. The greens complain the rock colours do well

This was painted for my son's Maltese partner as a surprise for her birthday. She used to swim there with her late father when she was a child. I tried to capture the reflections and clear water of the seas around Malta, this is the reason Malta is such a Mecca for divers. We often have 40m of visibility.
