I really like this Tessa , superb sketch with beautiful colours.

Tessa this is super for a first go! Love the organic flow of the tree and landscape/riverbank, especially where you have used the light and dark counter change. Gorgeous darling!

I like it Tessa.

Really good for a first go Tessa. It's so tempting to blend and smudge, but you have used them without blending keeping it fresher.

Thank you all for your much appreciated comments! 🙏

This has a lovely flow to it Tessa and quite strong movement within the image

Thank you Carole. I should have said the paper was blue, that’s not all pastel!

Lovely flowing pastel work I like it Tessa.

Great job here Tessa, perseverance is the keyword because it’s a lovely underrated medium in my view!

I like this Tessa, what a lovely composition and use of colour (I'm not sure about pastels either!)

Many thanks Carole, Alan and Heather. This is a mix of soft, hard and pastel pencils. Yes Alan I need to persevere!

Lovely flowing composition and colours, Tessa. (I’ve tried pastels and couldn’t get on with them at all.)

Thank you Jenny-seems I’m not alone! x

Great sketch, Tessa, I agree about the feel of dry pastels, I prefer oil pastels

I love the freedom of movement and use of colour. Great work.

Thank you Thalia. I have some oil pastels but not keen on the result there! Many thanks Spencer.

Great use of pastels Tessa.

An excellent piece. Really like the colours and movement.

One of our art group was giving away some pastels so a couple of us thought we would have a go and having watched a few YouTube videos I came up with this. Although I like viewing pastel work I was put off by the feel of them. Quite pleased with some of this but still very much a beginner! A4 on pastel paper using mostly Sennelier.
