Landlocked! (Ruby)

Nice little boat and very nicely painted.

Ah, old boats are lovely (but sad) things - a lovely painting Tessa, lots to be admired and so small too

Boy you two are quick! Thanks both. 😀

Such a painterly image Tess. Spontaneous and loose. Love the greens.

Another tiny painting...it's great. I wonder about these boats. We used to live next to a couple who had a boat in their front garden...we lived there for seven years, and it never went near water. There must be hundreds like that.

A lovely little boat Tessa, painted beautifully.

Nicely done and a super boat.

Thank you Carole, greens are always a challenge aren’t they! Thanks again Lew, and yes you’re right there must be loads of old boats hanging around, and we are many miles from the sea. Probably one of those things that seem like a good idea, and then nothing comes if it. Many thanks Denise and Chris.

Aww lovely little boaty. 💕

Ah, a super little boat, Tessa, if not a tad sad. It's the kind of thing that makes you look and wonder about its history and the chances of her ever seeing water again. I hope she does. You've packed a lot into a small case and I really admire your impressionistic background. Delightful little study. Bri

Thanks so much Bri and Faye. I live in hope that I will go to art group one day and she will be gone. But maybe to that great boatyard in the sky!

A lovely painting Tessa, I can’t believe how small it is! We see many old neglected boats on the river and in the marina and wonder at their sad history too.

Many thanks for your kind comments Rikke, Valerie and Katy. Yes it’s such a shame to see these old boats going nowhere.

Another mini painting from a photo I took of this rather sad little boat called Ruby which has been ‘parked’ outside our art group hall for many months. I don’t think she has seen water for a long time. This is again gouache and approx 4” x 2.5”.

Although I did a year's Foundation Course at art college after leaving school, I hadn’t painted much in the interim, except for a few attempts here and…
