Wonky Trees (for the Dixie Man!)

Comments

It’s absolutely brilliant Tessa , one beautiful old tree and really well painted. Thank you for the complement your a dab hand yourself . I bet it’s riddled with bugs etc , life after death as they say , they can last for years .

Cheers Dixie!

I see the zDixie man likes it..so do I very much.

Great pen and wash in a lovely loose style. I like it

Many thanks Sylvia and Steven. Glad you like it. It was fun to do, especially as I haven’t used pens for a while.

Lovely . I like the looseness of this.

Well this is so alive Tessa. Your tree is full of personality and I wouldn’t be surprised if it speaks.

Thanks a lot Andrew, Spencer and Carole. I think it did speak Carole, very softly!

A beautiful old tree Tessa, love your painting!

A smashing tree Tessa

These old trees are great subjects, and all trees are wonky aren't they? An excellent sketch Tessa.

A lovely painting Tessa; I really like your make-making on the dead tree.

Many thanks Carole, Heather, Lew, and Karen for your lovely comments. Lew, you’re right, all trees are a bit wonky and that makes them more interesting and challenging to portray.

A superb piece, Tessa. Love the wonderful, varied lines and marks, the excellent textures and composition. Really lovely work!

I love subjects like your tree Tessa, you’ve given it a wonderful personality. Great marks and tones.

Thank you so much Seok and Fiona- good to hear from you. X

Your pen work gives it a really quirky feel - love it!

Many thanks Jacqueline. 😊

Trying to motivate myself before art group starts soon. I’ve been meaning to paint these old trees for a while, inspired by Paul/Dixie who paints a tree or two rather well! The white tree is dead and leaning on the others. I’m sure it harbours many birds and bugs. This is A5 pen and watercolour.
