Gloucester Plein Air Day Saturday 20 July 2019.
This was my entry into the competition last Saturday and is oil on board 16x20”. I decided having done a recce a few days before, to do a composite painting of scenes around the city centre including the docks. I actually decided I tried to put too much in, but it is what it is, and was great fun to do. I started with the shape of the Cathedral door, then added various sights and scenes around the area. I have tweaked since, adding some detail. In hindsight maybe I should have settled for one scene! Maybe next year.
