Jeanette and Max, many thanks for your kind comments. I have framed this picture and it has worked very well, I like the Impressionist style but it is not easy for me to do. I must try harder!

Agreed, you are doing excellently with these pastel works Terence, don't torture yourself about trying harder, to an outsider looking in you are really doing brilliantly ! Enjoy that, Art is fun and vastly enjoyable and we all improve as we go along simply by interacting with each other on sites such as this

This picture was the second in a series of experiments which we did at the pastel group. I tried to use some of the lessons I had learnt copying an oil painting by a recognised artist. I think I have mananged to accomodate some of the Impressionist techniques. It is done on a 14" x 10" piece of Hermes 500 grit wet and dry paper mounted on a piece of card. It is based on one of Tony Richards' photos on lakelandcam.
