Love it Sylvia it's a beauty ... this format is a lot of fun and the reason I got into it is because a gallery here asked me would I attempt one; if accepted it will turn into a very nice flow of lovely lolly 😊

I really like the ink in this, great definition Sylvia.

I do agree about the format and it works so well here Sylvia

This format does work well with large expanses of vista and this is a rather lovely plein-air sketch Sylvia. I may have a go at one myself later on if the weather brightens up.

Yes, this day I was working in my very favourite way. It shows. I find that if I look photographs or try to do it "cold". My work just looks stiff and stulified . Thank you for looking everyone and commenting.

Magnificent Sylvia! I love the areas where your brush has skipped over the paper and left those chinks of white space.

A wonderful view from the 'Hirtheog' moors a area usually by passed on the way to snowdonia. You've really captured the feeling of remoteness in these wonderful moors. The Range in the distance quite accurately sketched, with Tryfan captured on the right edge. A lovely painting Sylvia, perfectly suited to this panorama format.

Nice one Sylvia . lovely colours and the blue Snowdonia. I had a holiday there in llanberis with only a little rain

Andre you, like me need to get it roughly right . Yup that's Tryfan on the right and my interpretation of the Snowdonia , thanks for using the correct name for the moors I'd forgotten it. Hirtheog . Thank you for looking Russell, Fiona, ...yes Syd you were lucky Llanberis is a very wet place usually. Though saying that we are usually fortunate in. Bonnie Scotland also well known for its dampness.

This really works Sylvia, a beautifully painted scene, lovely.

Like that Silvia, especially the colour combinations....

Great sketch of a glorious scene. Hope you can get up and about soon, so frustrating.

Margaret, Jim and Sharon big thanks for looking. My lovely Wales is an amazing place and I will get my hiking boots on again one day.

Lovely panorama Sylvia!

Very nice indeed Sylvia, love the technique, especially the peaks in the background.

Thank you Linda and Marjorie.

How the ink delineates it so well Sylvia, I like the format. Will look in on the forum.

Love your line work!

Thank you David

Thank you Maureen.

Love this. I'm a big fan of pen and wash and this is terrific.

About the Artist

Sylvia Evans. I am mainly a self taught artist, though I did spend a year at Rochdale School of Art in the late 1950’s. I was then made to get a “Proper Job” by my father, so I spent the next few years in a nursing career. I married and had a family, just picking up a pencil to amuse my…
