Lilacs

Just had to comment on this Sharon - love the way you have treated the flowers which is set off so well by the strong tones of the foliage.

Gosh, you are much further along than we are. There are no buds on our lilac trees. Michael has summed it up well. Beautiful watercolour.

Thanks to all of you for such lovely comments, I'm so thrilled you like it. Gudrun, this is what we call here the common or country lilac, its always a few weeks ahead of the hybrids, which are still in tight buds. Having said that, it does usually flower during the last week of April, so its two weeks early ; not surprising really as we have been having temperatures up in the twenties !
