Wonderfully evocative painting. I know Southwold well and can feel and hear the movement of those waves. Great atmosphere. Well observed.

I remember this day very well. A howling wind made it impossible to plant an easel on the pier so this image was developed from shaky photos and a couple of hasty sketches done before the wind blew me over the railings!
