Lovely work Gavin, many paintings of Staithes look a little somber but you have injected more colour and life here.

Splendid. That's the Staithes I remember from my childhood, with the bridge across the beck. The sun was always shining, the boats were, indeed, painted blue, but can't vouch for the house though!

This was painted from a photo I took while on a painting course in Staithes. At that time the building in the background was blue which I considered helped the composition, but it has now been repainted white after many objections. Staithes is full of views to paint.
