Thank you all for your lovely comments on this piece. I had real skepticism about this one as I didn't know if the painting would overcome the foreshortening of the reference image. You've all given me confidence that it works.

You've done a great job on this one Sarah. You can see that he's ready for mischief in the snow! Loving the subtle colour mixtures of the snow too.

So this one's a little different.... this quirky pose was taken from a very dark and grainy reference photo but this was how this gorgeous boy's Dad remembers him best... playing in the snow, which he loved more than anything. I wasn't sure how well this would translate to oil paint but I'm pretty happy with it. 'Bru', oil on board, 16 x 16"
