Oh I am so sad a great lady and artist and a lovely painting Ruth

So sad to hear of this - a lovely painting to remember Thea by; I feared the worst when I last spoke (by email) with her. Life can be cruel.

A lovely poignant painting, the subdued colours relating the sense of loss.....am sure she would would have appreciated this.

Yes indeed. Thea was a lovely, talented lady, and will be sadly missed by all.

Such sad news Ruth, your painting is a beautiful and touching dedication to her memory.

This is so calm and lovely

Thankyou for posting this Ruth, its such sad news. I will always associate her with her beautifully clean watercolours, and her thoughtful views on the creative process. And her fascinating blog on her time with Charles Reid. A talented lady indeed.

Ruth thank you for letting us know the awfully sad news about Thea. She was indeed a lovely person and I loved her art. My condolences to her family. A beautiful serene painting Ruth a great tribute to Thea.

A very lovely tribute Ruth.

So sad to hear about Thea. This is a beautiful painting Ruth.

Thea's lovely painting reflected her lovely, kind nature, and I am sure she will never be forgotten as one of our Greats. Thank you all so much for commenting,

A lovely sentiment Ruth, very sad news.

Lovely watercolour Ruth and I have no doubt Thea will love it. So sad news. Thea was a great and talented artist

That's very sad to hear. Beautiful painting to remember her and her spirit by.

I miss Thea terribly Ruth. I got to know her well and she was a good friend. I will never forget her. She was an inspiration to me and was always willing to help and advise me with my painting. She would have appreciated this lovely tribute of yours and I thank you for posting it.

Oh, Louise, I knew you were friendly and that Thea loved talking with you. I'm sure you miss her. And I do hope that her family will be comforted somewhat by these lovely condolences which we all share for her passing.

Very sad news about Thea. Thank you for letting us know and posting this lovely painting.

Thank you Ruth for posting this tribute to Thea. I met her the first day I started painting after my retirement and we remained good friends and met up regularly for coffee and cake! She was always an inspiration to me - her beautiful colours and loose style and as Louise says, she was always there to help and advise but encourage at the same time. I will miss her very much.

Thank you for your comment Julia. I know how much you will miss Thea, you were good friends with one another. Your tribute to her memory is lovely and so very true. I always thought also, that Thea had, like her beautifully delicate paintings, an ethereal quality of spirit and that is why I chose this particular piece of work as being a fitting tribute.

Just seen this Ruth , atmospheric painting in your lovely style . I had wondered about Thea and didn’t quite know how to find out. That is so sad , a feisty lady and we didn’t always see eye to eye but I admired her work a great deal. Thank you for the information.

I just saw Robert's message on the Forum about Thea, Ruth. It really was a shock to me.I knew heron the POL site for several years and we commented on each others work, especially pen and washes, our mutual interest. She was so good on that. We always had a pleasant contact and she was very proud about her days with Charles Reid. Her positive comments made me buy his DVD's and I very much enjoyed them. She was a grand lady and certainly will be missed. Thanks for letting us know.

I’ve just seen Robert’s post on the Forum about Thea. She will be so missed by a lot of people, her challenges on the Gallery were such fun and she was always very supportive to me and many others. I never knew her personally but felt she was a friend. RIP Thea.
