Acrylic on board. I painted this of my niece and her friend so many years ago that my niece now has her own children. I was interested in using glazes of acrylic paint at the time to build layers of colour. I loved the friendship these two displayed in their pose.

At school my Art teacher told me that I used too much colour in my work. Happily I’m not at school now and can use as much colour as I like! Later as a mature student I did a foundation and half a degree in Art, until family and finances cut that short, but both wonderful opportunities to study…
