I've finished the oil, Fiona. As always, I like some aspects of one version better and other aspects of the other. There's no substitute for the freshness from working outdoors.

This is good, damn good in fact Roger! Your tonal balance and colours are perfect.

I think this is absolutely spiffing Roger! You know, I think I prefer it to your pastel, which is also very good but there is more I like in this. For example...the area of trees and the telegraph pole on the left, can’t take my eyes of that part. I also like the treatment of the trees behind the cottage and the wall leading up to the cottage. To be honest, I love it all!

A superb painting, so much to like about it.
